Last year Aid Distribution International delivered 3160 Christmas Care packs to children in Laos whose families are struggling with poverty.

Each pack contained two storybooks, school supplies, school uniform, lollies, toiletries and a toy. The pack also includes 1kg of sugar for the children to give to their parents to make a special Christmas treat.

Our project officer said, “Children have little in the form of gifts as most of the income for the family is spent on putting food on the table. Many children go to school without lunch. Some don’t have even a pencil and the parents often sacrifice much to help their children have education. For children in Laos to receive such a gift, it [is] like a miracle.”
