In Cairo, Egypt’s capital, the Zabaleen people are the city’s traditional garbage collectors, providing a solution to accumulated waste by collecting and recycling it every day. The work provides only a meagre income, and many families live in poverty.
Children are unavoidably the vulnerable victims of that hardship. This year, Aid Distribution International is delivering Christmas Care packs to Zabaleen children in Cairo.
Each pack contains school stationery, toiletries, story books, a snack, a blanket and a school bag.
